This photo shoot was at Roby Park in Nashua, NH. The weather was beautiful! It was about 60 degrees with a little bit of wind, but it wasn't cold at all. I didn't even need a coat for the session, which felt like a small preview of spring.

I photographed my best friend and her boyfriend today. She's always been incredibly kind about modeling for me whenever I need someone in front of the camera. She can be a little awkward during shoots (sorry, Jennah!), but I always try to go into the session with that in mind and focus on making her feel as comfortable as possible.

At one point I asked her to kiss her boyfriend for a shot and she had a few protests haha. But she loves me enough that she did it anyway. I'm so excited to get a look at these photos on my computer. The two of them are just so cute together. Their energy matches perfectly and it really shows in the photos.

I also made sure to thank Ben when we arrived and again when we left. Let's be so honest...photoshoots like this are almost never the guy's idea. When my friend first told me they'd do the shoot, I asked when they were available and she said, "I haven't told him we're doing it yet." That's when you know they're really in love because he showed up in a nice sweater and was ready to do whatever I asked during the session.

This was a shoot I had been really looking forward to. I had posted on my socials that I was looking for a couple to do a sledding-themed lifestyle session and that I'd offer a discount. My friend volunteered, which made me so excited to bring this idea to life.

Because it was a little warmer today, I was worried about the snow conditions and yea, I was right. The snow was very wet. I didn't want them sitting or laying on the ground because Ben's sweater would have been soaked immediately. We had originally hoped to get some sledding action shots too, but when he tried to go down the hill he just sank into the snow instead. It was hilarious for me, but I felt bad because his sledding dreams were pretty much crushed.

One thing I made a point to do today was wear my Meta glasses. I tried using them during my Valentine's mini sessions but completely forgot to actually record anything. This time I kept them on my head, and as soon as we started I turned the video on. Hopefully when I get home and check the Meta app, I'll find that everything recorded properly. It would be so cool to have some behind-the-scenes footage from now on.

The sled we used today came from my mom. She collects antiques, and when I told her about my idea for a sledding photo shoot she said she had a sled I could use. Yesterday she FaceTimed me to show me a few options and asked which one I wanted. I picked one with no rope, but thankfully my crafty mother had some I could attach to the sled. It ended up working perfectly.

I know I keep talking about it, but the weather! Today really made me excited for spring. I'm so ready for warmer days, more bookings, and more outdoor photo sessions. I loved every session I did last summer and fall. I only did a few in the spring when I was just starting out, but now I'm really looking forward to building a full session of shoots.

Before I left the house today, I even got a message on Instagram from someone looking for graduation photos in May. I'm so excited about that. I already have three grad shoots scheduled at SNHU, and adding another would be amazing! Especially because this student goes to a different college that I've never photographed at before.

Now that the session is over, I'm looking forward to going home, eating some dinner, playing with my baby, and then once he's asleep tonight, sitting down at my computer and getting to work on these photos.

I hope you all had a really good weekend :)

xoxo
