This shoot made me understand why photographers LOVE sunset in the summertime.

It was a beautiful August 30th last year. I just had a wonderful day of thrifting with my mom, cousin, and sister-in-law. I had booked this shoot with my brother and sister-in-law and by the time we had finished thrifting, we had to race to our location before the sun set. One thing I am super grateful for is a brother who doesn't mind all the photoshoots...too much. We made it there with probably 25 minutes to spare. But it worked FABULOUSLY. I have the gallery on my portfolio page if you want to see the full gallery but I also added a few of the photos below.

I brought my beloved Canon R10 and my 50mm lens to this shoot. I had just recently bought the R10 so was still learning the ropes of the body (literally got it 10 days before), I've since had it for 9 months and I'm just obsessed with it. There are still a lot of things I learned just from this shoot. A lot of the photos towards the end turned out pretty grainy and I was still figuring out ISO but the ones from the beginning were exactly what I wanted. I hope to recreate this shoot this year and get everything down.

But if I'm going to be so completely honest...I have no idea how I did this. I was very surprised when I had like 3 people tell me they were obsessed with this shoot. I just kept thinking to myself "how am I going to do this again??" All I did was hit the shutter, slap the preset on, edit the exposure, blue up the sky, and called it a day. But the photos were so crisp and clean that people loved it! And I had a friend book this location with me BECAUSE of these photos.

These two are my favorite models and I was honored when they both changed their insta profile pictures to photos from this shoot.

I want to talk about this location in a later blog because this was my most booked spot in 2025. And I understand why. It's a fantastic location, easy to find, beautiful (especially before they cut the corn). Definitely gives a rustic vibe to the shoot, I'm obsessed.

If you'd want your photos at this spot, I'd love to photograph you :)
