A couple weeks ago, I had the honor of doing a very special photoshoot with my best friend Jenney and her husband Paul. I've known Jenney for over 10 years, can you believe that! We were in each others weddings and her wedding was actually where I met my husband. So I guess you can say they've been a big part of my life. Over the past year, they've been huge supporters of me and my business and it's been such a blessing to work with them.
When Jenney found out she was pregnant, she FaceTimed me, we cried, and then we immediately started planning our future photoshoots. What made this even more special, was that she didn't want to know the gender right away but instead wanted me to be the first to know. Wow!! What an honor that was to hear. I couldn't believe I was being trusted with the biggest secret ever (and honestly don't know how I managed hahah). After getting her blood work results, I raced over to her house to see it. It was such an honor to be not just the first person to know, but the only person to know in that moment. I later shared the news with my husband and another close friend Jenney wanted me to tell (who was ecstatic).
I'm overjoyed for Jenney and Paul. After almost three years of hoping and praying for a positive pregnancy test, this is what we've been waiting for!
For the shoot, we did a private, intimate gender reveal with just the two of them at Bensons Park in Hudson. We were hoping for a different park with a different vibe, but unfortunately the weather was not on our side so we settled for the runner up. I prepared both a blue and pink bouquet so they couldn't guess right away. When the moment came, I had them sit on a blanket, close their eyes, I placed the bouquet in front of them, and asked for their final guesses. They both guessed boy...but it was a girl! Jenney's reaction when she opened her eyes and saw the pink flowers was priceless. She was overjoyed and Paul was, of course, so happy too.
We got some beautiful portraits of them, some with the ultrasound and the pregnancy test, all before the rain came down on us. I remembered to record the reveal as you may have seen on my TikTok and Instagram. I used both my phone and my Meta glasses for this shoot.
Once I got home, I immediately got them up on my computer to edit then sent them to Jenney right when I finished.
Jenney and Paul, if you're reading this, Rob and I love you both so much. We're so excited to watch you become the most amazing parents we know you'll be to your little girl. We're praying for you throughout this pregnancy. And of course, Robbie is excited to meet his new cousin in October, he loves his Auntie Jenney and Uncle Paul so much!
